The Madawaska Valley Family Health Team (MVFHT) is a newer Family Health Team (FHT) nestled south of Algonquin Park and east of Ottawa. The team consists of six family physicians, two nurse practitioners, nurses, a social worker and a dietitian. They have physical space in two locations and provide support (and are supported by) St Francis Memorial Hospital and Madawaska Valley Hospice. Within the values of respect, communication, integrity, collaboration, quality and honesty, they aim to increase capacity for care, support the needs of the community and build a positive and comprehensive team.
The Indigenous Primary Health Care Team for the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan is located in Renfrew County along the beautiful shores of Golden Lake. The IPHCT is approximately thirty minutes from the MVFHT. The IPHCT provides culturally safe primary health care services with a multidisciplinary team consisting of NPs, Physician, and Nursing.
