Salary: $113,680 – $132,086 per annum

This competition will be used to fill one permanent position, working 75 hours bi-weekly, as well as any Term, AOC and Casual positions that come up during the life of the Eligibility List. We understand the need for work-life balance and can accommodate flexible hours and part-time work.
We believe that nurses play a critical role in our health care system, and we offer a signing bonus of $7,500 for Nurse Practitioners. In addition to our signing bonus, we pay a market adjustment allowance of up to $12,000.
We also offer reimbursement of exam fees for new nursing graduates and yearly reimbursement for licensing fees. We offer the option to do a compressed work week, four 10-hour shifts per week, and we may consider other flexible work arrangements such as part-time. The Whitehorse Walk-In Clinic is a medical facility that accepts patients on a walk-in basis for medical treatment of non-urgent conditions. Nurse Practitioners at the clinic will work autonomously to diagnose, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and perform treatments for clients experiencing a variety of concerns. Reporting to the Manager of the Walk-In Clinic, they will be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes social workers, licensed practical nurses, medical office assistants and physicians. We are looking for Nurse Practitioners interested in providing a diverse range of primary health care in a health clinic setting.
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have experience working in a health clinic setting, liaising with key partners to provide holistic, accessible and equitable care for clients/patients while contributing to an environment that is inclusive, non-discriminatory, and physically, psychologically and culturally safe.

Essential Qualifications:

• Either registration, or eligibility for registration, as a Nurse Practitioner in good standing with the Yukon Registered Nurses Association
• Recently applied knowledge of nursing theory, practices and techniques

Candidates should have and may be assessed on:
• Ability to operate across multiple levels of care and within a transdisciplinary environment
• Oral and written communication skills
• Organizational skills
• Critical thinking, relationship-building and conflict management skills
• Ability to provide leadership, coaching and training to members of the team
• Experience working with a diverse population
• Knowledge of the Yukon government’s Putting People First report is an asset
Conditions of Employment:
• TB screening
• Vulnerable Sector RCMP security clearance
• Valid CPR Level C
• WHMIS 2015 (completed within one month of hire)
• Current registration in good standing with the Yukon Registered Nurses
