Insurance barrier campaign – letter is ready for insurance Boards. (Carolle)Refresh re Past Insurance meeting. NPAC continues to have request for Insurance barrier letters. 
https://www.ccrnr.ca/nurse-practitioners.html CCRNR – National Project on Nurse Practitioner Regulation Phase 2 (stakeholder panel) Stan & Carolle representing NPACCarolle provides information about this project. Nurse practitioners not initially invited to the table. NPAC contested – this and since invited us to Phase 2. Various NP representatives, govt, and non-NP’s.  Carolle and Stan – no voting capacity.  They do not need our consensus. Looking at 6 issues. – Education, continuation of competency, etc. Main interest- Public protection. Regular from Manitoba initiated regulation framework. CASN reps: Some stakeholders: Ruth Martin Misner (NS) Mary Ellen Lebreque (Sask) Need to make sure that we have NP champions that are representing the roleCarolle and Stan will continue in the roles of NPAC representatives on the CCRNR panel.

Education Committee for Families for Addiction Recovery https://www.farcanada.org/ Chair Doug Hunter Phone meeting held August 28. He proposes we be a part of the funding Health Canada has provided to MD students and current MD’s and with potential slight Amendment for NPs we will have access to the platform for the education on addiction.   NPs have option to access MD student Learning Modules through Queens University [no cost]. April to connect with this person

Join Perkpolis – will add when new membership is effectiveWork in process, pending implementation of new membership platform 
Professional development dates (Stan) Canadian NP journal for publication Development of NP fellowship credential in Canada 1.NP journal. Highlights NP practice, policy. Could help engage NP in Canada 2.Have many NP’s in Canada that demonstrate commitment to policy, practice, clinical practice.  Could develop a credential – honor these NP’s. 
Guild Membership progress (Stan) Platform coming together. Lenora and Stan in biweekly meeting. Block membership gives access to platform. Individual members can join Guild- Informatic platform, but also had capabilities for educational delivery. Goal: every provincial association has Block membership with NPAC. Current Block members need to sign on.  Next meeting with Guild next Friday ~ Nov. 20, 2020
Independent practice in NB support letter   Raelyn Lagace and Chantal Ricard   President & President –elect    Nurse Practitioners of New BrunswickDiscussion – re current issue. Discussion re geographical variability and political influences. Importance of NP champions. Letter has previously been sent on NPAC’s behalf.   Need input from NPNB re political landscape. Issue also to be shared at NP council.
Nurse Practitioner of the year award – call for nominations Do we move forward with this? Some discussion re membership

1.Terms of reference NP council meeting – request from BC – that NP council chair not part of the Executive Needs update.Will be done via Google docs
2.NS Virtual service – Miriam leaving the company on Jan. 1, 2020.   Replacement obtained. – Bilingual. Natalie is the owner.Discussion re change in NS virtual service. Carolle with have phone call with new NS – virtual assistance.Lenora will forward information in email. Google vote. Quick turn- around. Every 2 days check email
