Your Opportunity:

This Nurse Practitioner (NP) position with Seniors Health Central Zone provides support to three facilities in our Zone. Based out of Tofield, the NP supports residents at the Tofield Continuing Care Type A site as well as Hardisty and Galahad sites. Working as an advance practice nurse, this position integrates clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures in order to manage and meet the health needs of the residents living in our care.

This position works to the full scope of NP care and is an essential part of our interdisciplinary team, coordinating and collaborating with other healthcare providers including physicians, nursing, allied health and other community resources to provide and promote comprehensive resident/family centred care.

Description:
As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients.

Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Requirements

Required Qualifications:
Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, with a minimum of a Master’s degree. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:
Adult NP: provides health services to young, middle aged and older adults in generalized adult practice and/or specialty area(s) of practice. The NP has in-depth knowledge of adult acute and chronic illness and can work with complex clients. In some instances, an Adult NP may provide older adolescent care when the adolescent’s developmental age and/or lifestyle may more closely approximate that of an adult.

Practice settings include, but are not limited to, critical care, acute care, continuing care and community / ambulatory settings. Must meet the physical demands of the position, including the demands of the clinical work and the driving demands of travelling to alternate sites from base site.

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working within a continuing care setting and previous experience working with Connect Care. Certified Capacity Assessor.
