CanVECTOR and Thrombosis Canada are pleased to invite you to attend our 2025 joint conferences. The CanVECTOR AnnualConference will be held on Friday, October 24th, 2025 followed by the Thrombosis Canada Education Conference on October 25th,2025. The programs feature Canadian and international thrombosis experts and others with complementary research expertise. Theprograms will be presented in-person only.
Location: Hilton Toronto Airport Hotel, Mississauga, ON

Friday, October 24, 2025 – CanVECTOR Program
Theme: Conquering Clots Collectively: A 10-Year Reflection and Beyond
Co-chairs: Dr Jameel Abdulrehman & Dr Amye Harrigan
Intended Audience:
Clinical and basic science researchers, physicians, research personnel, trainees, patient partners, and any other professionalsinvolved in VTE-related research.
Program Learning Objectives:
- Apply strategies for effective and sustained research collaboration within and outside the network, including engagement withpatient partners.
- Evaluate how translational research bridges basic science and clinical practice, and identify strategies for integratinglaboratory-based discoveries into the design and implementation of thrombosis-related clinical studies.
- Describe the current programming and research activities of the CanVECTOR network, including trainee research, and thepotential impacts for venous thrombosis prevention, diagnosis, and treatment in the future.
Pre-Conference Activities: Thursday, October 23rd
We are hosting the following pre-conference activities on, open to members and registrants:
- 13:00 – 14:30 – Population and Health Services Research Platform priority setting workshop (Open to current & new workinggroup members)
- 15:00 – 17:00 – Scientific Steering Committee (SSC) Meeting (SSC members only)
- 17:30 – 18:30 – Clinical Investigation Group (CIG) Meeting (Open to members)
- 19:00 – 21:00 – Welcome Reception at Ruth’s Chris Steak House (Open to all)

Saturday, October 25, 2025 – Thrombosis Canada Program
Theme: Past, Present, and Future of Thrombosis Medicine
Co-chairs: Dr Jameel Abdulrehman & Dr Stephanie Carlin
Intended Audience:
Physicians, nurses and pharmacists involved in the management of patients with challenging medical or surgical conditions requiringpersonalized anticoagulant management.
Program Learning Objectives:
After completing this program, participants will be equipped to:
– Discuss how past evidence informs current management of thrombosis and where new evidence may lead us in future
– Apply evidence-informed treatment strategies for the management of venous and arterial thrombotic diseases
– Gain insights from expert discussions on special topics in thrombosis to optimize patient management and outcomes
