Course registration is now open for the University of British Columbia’s annual week-long course for physicians, medical trainees, public health practitioners, nurses, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals who intend to practice in the tropics, resource-limited settings, or who require an update on infectious, parasitic and other major tropical diseases.
Through on-site or virtual interactive lectures, small-group case-based discussions and practical laboratory teaching, attendees will learn:
A clinical approach to the evaluation and management of tropical diseases;
Practical laboratory skills, with a focus on the identification of parasites important for the diagnosis of tropical diseases;
Public health principles and applications including outbreak management.
Both formats of participation will have a companion online course that is hosted on the UBC Learning Management System called Canvas. Resources such as lecture recordings, slide decks, references and handouts, as well as a discussion forum (for course participants and faculty only) will be accessible to 2024 registrants until July 31, 2024.
Please visit the course website for details and to register.
