Speaker: NP Heidi Pharand-Joven

Heidi Pharand-Joven is a dedicated Nurse Practitioner with over 7 years of experience in providing compassionate, patient-centered, trauma informed care across various specialties, including addictions, mental health, and infectious diseases.

Recognizing the growing impact of infectious diseases and the significant correlation with substance use disorders, Heidi expanded her expertise to include the management of these conditions, providing insight and treatment that

considers the whole person. Heidi’s background in infectious disease has reinforced her

commitment to preventive care and health education. Heidi shares her passion and knowledge with students in the NP program at Athabasca University, where she is a sessional instructor in numerous courses. 

Heidi has a profound interest in psychoneuroimmunology where she will be focusing future education. This comprehensive approach allows her to integrate advanced knowledge into practice, helping patients understand how their emotional and mental states can impact physical health, through all life stages.  A passionate advocate for holistic health, Heidi believes in empowering patients through education and support, illness prevention, and fostering resilience and recovery at every stage of their journey.
