President’s Newsletter – January 2019

President’s Newsletter – January 2019

Dear membership,

Here we are in the third week of 2019.

I want to share a few updates. We have had 2 NP Council Meetings Nov. 5, 2018 and Jan. 7, 2019. We acted on feedback from your association representatives on the NP Council. Approved meeting minutes will be on the website in members section. Finance statements will be available quarterly on the site.

We have a bilingual communications director Carolle Nazair from NB starting in her advocacy role. Welcome Carolle to the advocacy work for NPs in Canada.

The website update is continuing and we will have it bilingual this year.

The board will be sending out a SurveyMonkey to gather data on your preferred NP title. We are seeking title alignment pan Canadian. We are preparing a briefing note for Principle Nurse Advisors Task Force (PNATF). PNAFT is a link to the government.

INSURANCE RECOGNITION BARRIER
I am expecting a date to be confirmed to present to  Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association (CLHIA) https://www.clhia.ca/

We are requesting  inclusion of NP in all insurance plan contract language.

There are many conferences being planned across Canada.
Check out the Events page

Our treasurer is seeking a replacement on the board. I will send out a call for anyone interested.
